Raw Recipes – 4 DIY Raw Meals for your Dog

Raw Recipes for Dogs Made Easy

If you’ve been reading my posts over the last few weeks, you know I’m big into feeding my dogs a raw diet. I totally get this isn’t for everyone but if you are curious about how to feed your dog raw, check out this post. If you are here for a few raw recipes, stay tuned.

Some of these definitely have proteins that might not be found in your local grocery but can be found at your butcher most likely or online at Raw Feeding Miami. I love shopping with them to keep a wide variety of proteins rolling through mealtime with my dogs. If you enjoy seeing these recipes, you can follow us over on Instagram and we post these Raw Meals on our page as well.

Raw Recipes

The raw recipes listed below are just suggestions. Be sure to balance it out for your own dog based off their own needs. I was originally planning to make them all balanced here based off one of my dogs but don’t feel that’s fully necessary as you can’t copy the exact weights I need unless your dog is the same weight as my dog. Then again, I feed my dog on the higher end at around 3% of the body weight, sometimes even closer to 3.25% because she stays so skinny otherwise due to her being quite active.

Raw Meal #1

  • Duck Grinds
  • Monster Mash (organ blend)
  • Whitefish
  • Quail Eggs
  • Turmeric Paste
  • Raw Goats Milk
  • Bone Broth
  • Green Lipped Mussel

I source my quail eggs locally from a someone who raises quail. The Monster Mash is an organ blend from Raw Feeding Miami. I make my own turmeric paste and bone broth. If you want me to do a post on how to make those, just let me know in the comments.

Raw Meal #2

  • Rabbit with Bone
  • Pork
  • Beef Liver and Kidney
  • Turmeric Paste
  • Raw Goats Milk

Raw Meal #3

  • Duck Wings
  • Thread Herring
  • Green Tripe
  • Ground Beef Lung
  • Ground Beef Organs
  • Coconut Oil
  • Apple Cider Vinegar

Do note it says GREEN tripe. The white tripe you can find at the grocery is bleached and has basically zero nutritional value for your dog and a total waste to purchase or feed. Green tripe is one thing I tend to purchase online or request it from my local butcher.

Raw Meal #4

  • Rabbit
  • Salmon
  • Duck Neck
  • Liver Cube
  • Formative Years

In my liver cube is also another organ meat. This is typically a pancreas or brain but is rotated with what I have in my freezer to blend with the liver. I tend to freeze organ meat sometimes as it can help entice your dog to eat it easier. Formative Years is a supplement I get from Doctor Harvey’s and give to my one dog who is under 18 months.

Below are the weights (in ounces) that I give to my one dog who is around 50 lbs and gets fed roughly 3% of her weight. This is based off “adult” weight despite her being under 18 months.

Muscle Meat: 19.97 oz
Bone: 2.5 oz
Liver: 1.25 oz
Other Organ: 1.25 oz
